With updating sites and adding new images, lazy people (like me ) don't feel like making new images.
So, I was thinking of making a script (in php) that pulls a bullet list of menu items, pulls the background image/button for the sites menu level (using suckerfish style coding for flyouts), generates text on the fly on top of the image (as part of the image), sets the alt attribute on the image, and generates the link for the image.
So, my two questions are:
1) Has this already been done that I have not seen, and I'm reinventing the wheel?
2) Would this not be as worthwhile as I think it would be for SEO?
Thanks in advance.
