Pr Release And Seo ... Where To Publish First?

If you have a Press release you want to put out with hopes that it will be mentioned on other news websites etc (not necessarily republished) ... for SEO benefit, would you first put it on the company website to be crawled and only then submit to PRWeb or not?
You see if it was just content, then yes, common sense it to have your content appear on your site first ... but this is a PR release. I want to hear your opinion.
Note .... article has links pointing back to the company's site. If we don't put it on our site, SEs might give more weight to the link thinking that it's an editorial about the company and not "pushed" by the company. Your thoughts?

Put it on your site if it's something useful for your visitors to see. It makes no dif. if you do it before or after you submit it elsewhere.

DLady, how have ya been?
Weird! Crazy! Strange!
But good.
I will totally post the whole strange story in the Pub after-hours. But I will just say, I'm glad to be back and I'm having a blast catching up on all the SEO I've missed.
Maybe I really was meant to do PR all along... I just have to figure out where to start now that I've been away from all this for so long.
And you guys-- wow, is all I can say.
I really missed you guys. I stopped in a couple times but when you're not in the biz, there's not much to say. I admit I'm ridiculously glad to be doing this again so I have an excuse to post more Thread That Wouldn't Die-s.
Where's that smiley icon with all the bouncing faces, eh??!

Or this one?
Or this?
We (and by "we" I mean "Scottie") have added many additional worthy smileys in your absence. Here are a few of my favorites for your entertainment:
And BTW, welcome back! Resistance is futile. You have been assimilated...

I promise to behave in the real threads but I may well have to go revive TTTWD just to post all the smileys I like in it.
