Excuse me if I wrote something wrong...

Privet, Dimok!

I live and work in Arlington, Virginia, which is 10 minutes from Washington, DC.

I was born in Bulgaria and studied in Ukraine and then in the USA, so my English is not perfect either but the web is for all, isn't it :-)

Are there any statistics about search engine market share in Russia?

Having studied International Business, I would be curious to compile information about different countries' search engines.

Best wishes,

Mitko

Hey y'all!
I live and work right outside of Walt Disney World--Orlando, Florida. I think everyone here on the forum speaks English just fine--I'm from Alabama originally and with my accent some people don't understand me either :propeller: !!!!!

I'm originally from Brooklyn, NY, and raised in the suburbs on Long Island. I live and work now in Somerville, Massachusetts (2 blocks from the Cambridge border, so my neighborhood is full of Harvard students), which is 2 or 3 km outside of Boston, just across the river.

I'm from Upstate New York, lived in NYC for most of my adult life. Company transferred me to London. After 4 years my husband and I decided to give it all up to take on a dairy farm in County Cork Ireland! Not much money in dairy farming, and not something you can pick-up overnight - like SEO :aloha: . My husband started his own accountancy practice and I designed a web site for it. Five years, and three children later, he's getting over 50% of his business from his site and I have a new career!

Mitko, where in Ukraine did you study? Three of my grandparents were from there (two from near Kiev, one from what was then Galizia), and I have a good friend who's originally from Odessa.

And I've probably seen Eisenstein's Potemkin at least a dozen times

I grew up in Nashville, TN (no I'm not a big fan of country music) but live now in Columbia, South Carolina.

We are 2 hours from the beach and 2 hours from the mountains. There are plenty of lakes and forests around as well, so there is plenty to do. I just need to get out and do more of it~

If you've got a picture of your area, share it with us!

OK, here's my backyard

Alright, it's the whole city's yard, but it's much nicer than the view outside my window.

Wow Bob-

what a great picture!

This is a picture of Riverfront Park in Columbia... an old train trestle converted to a walking path along the river:

If you are new to forums, you have two ways to get a picture in your post. You can link to it (like I did- using the IMG tag in the controls and entering a URL) or you can upload it (using the browse button at the bottom of the form) and you'll get that nice beveled frame around it. like Bob's pic has.

Be nice! Don't upload pictures that are 1024x860 or some other huge thing! Please resize them to no more than 600px wide if you can!

Wow, Scottie & I are practically neighbors - I'm just up the road in Newberry, South Carolina.

After having spent 20 years as an engineer in the textile industry, it has become clear that I need to explore other career options. Computers are nothing new to me - I have been working with and on them since the original IBM PCs (anyone else old enough to remember version 1 of Lotus 1-2-3?).

I discovered I had an affinity for SEO when I was handed control of my employer's web site a couple of years ago. During the last six months, I have been absorbing everything I could on the subject, with Jill's newsletters being one of my primary sources.

I'm now working on a couple of sites outside of my day job, mainly for the experience and the referrals, and hoping it will grow from there. It would be wonderful to work for myself for a change. With guidance from you kind folk, I'm more optimistic than ever that I can make it happen.

Bob,

I used to live in Somerville, and I don't remember ever seeing a view like that anywhere. You must be in a posh neighborhood that I don't know - or maybe you're up in a highrise?

My home is now in Chicago.
