Hi there,

Quick question, after a long research about google/yahoo rank I found out that If you have a forum on your site it helps with rank because of the text. Now if I register at [site removed] a service that provides free forums. Would that help or do I have to install it my self on my own site?

If I add google AdSense to my site would that help? My site is also going to be 100% hebrew would google detect that autom.

Any help, comments, advice would be appreciated.

Thank You

Welcome only1yoni ! hi.gif

You'll want to start with our Tips for Newbies and the pinned threads at the top of each area of the forum. You'll learn a lot.

Quick and dirty answers to your questions.

1. Forums in and of themselves do not help a site rank well. Busy ones like this one do, because there's a lot of content. But if you simply slap up a forum and don't do anything to promote it, it's going to be very dead and cause people to have a totally different and not very positive view of your site. There are a few threads around here somewhere about starting and running a successful forum.

2. In order to get the most bang for your buck it'll need to be on your site.

3. Adsense has no connection whatsoever to the SERP rankings. Google claims the two never even talk to each other.

4. As long as you declare the correct language character set in your pages Google and all of the rest will pick it up automatically.

A forum attached to your site that is not used can de-value your entire site

I assume you mean that it's devalued by the users that might visit, correct?

Adding a link to a free forum service that you set up that is hosted elsewhere is not going to help you very much. You can link from that site back to yours (as you should to allow users to navigate anyway) and it will help a tiny bit, but only if you invest the time and resources to create a strong community with lots of posts.

If you are going to do all that work, you might as well host it yourself so that the content is part of your site, not the free hosting provider's site.
