Nobody seems to do this, I'd have thought it would help get a story picked up by those journos who have a particular interest in the sector..
Science: Qwerty missing after investigating crop circle.
Entertainment: Qwerty kidnapped by aliens!!
Agriculture: Cornfield damaged by missing ET hoaxer.
Anyone know whether PRWEB does this as part of their service?

Glengara,
To my knowledge no one does this directly in the press release itself. However, with PRWEB (and other newswire services), you can (and should) specify the intended audience by sectors, geos if applicable etc.
Cheers,
Chris

I don't do many press releases (PRWeb doesn't accept emails from the mother ship, it seems), but from an SEO perspective you do want to get your keywords into the title. If you think it would be helpful to use a category as a keyword, like if you think your release would be of interest to people looking for general news about SCIENCE, I'd go ahead and put it in there, but I don't know if it would be of any use to journalists looking for leads.

It just struck me reading through those releases I'd have appreciated a quick indication of the subject sector rather than having to read the headline first and then working it out.
I'll probably try a belt and braces approach, specify both for PRWEB and the journos....
