Oops. It's fixed now. I forgot the hyphen in their URL.

I never saw the old site, so I can't say whether or not this is an improvement. embarrassed.gif The one thing that I noticed is that the page style and color are different in your categories than they are on the home page. It's a bit disconcerting.

That's because only the test page has the new design, and I'm still tweaking that, so I haven't moved anything else over to it yet.

qwerty, I'm afraid I'm gonna throw a wrench into the works. Looking at your new site from the "female" perspective, I also have to agree that the site is still too boring. I actually like your original logo better than your new one. (Not as square, more interesting angles?) I also like the original blue color better than the new lighter blue. I think you need more of a contrasting color with the blue. The brown in your color palette is good, but I think you actually need a slightly darker brown - more chocolate brown- and more of it. Right now, there is just too much blue. I would suggest that you add more of a chocolate brown. I would suggest using a medium to dark brown background for your horizontal tabs and the right navigation menu, with text in white.

Also from the female perspective, I would like to see some graphics. More than just your logo. But please don't use a picture of you in a suit and tie. (One-it would destroy my image of you to see you looking "stuffy". Two - Boring!). I don't know what type of graphics to suggest, though.

I also tend to like the navigation menu on the left rather than the right.

(oh, I won't be offended if you ignore my suggestions. giggle.gif They are different from the male perspective.)

Hmm..... I guess I should be pleased this thread has been brought back to life, since I'm still futzing around with this thing.

Really? I've been giving serious thought to making it a little more boring by having the background go from the medium blue to white instead of medium blue to light blue.

I hate my old logo! It's just something I slapped together when a friend who offered to create one for me flaked out on me. The new one is still a work in progress, but I think it's going to end up looking rather like it does on the test page. (See image below).

I've been thinking of that too. I went through a phase a couple of years ago in which I took a lot of closeup photos of local architecture. I'm considering taking narrow sections from those, maybe tinting them to fit the pallet of the site, and putting them in the right column. They'd be sharing the column sometimes with a menu (it's a submenu, so I kind of like it on the right), sometimes with logos, and sometimes with quotes out of client testimonials.

eek.gif omg.gif NO!!! Not less color - MORE COLOR! lol.gif Really, try adding more brown and see what people think.

I like your idea of the architectural graphics. I bet that would work.

I guess I don't like your new logo because I just don't get it. searchme.gif To me, it looks like a phone with 2 receivers, one on each side. Is it supposed to represent something specific?
