I realize this is OT for SEM, but as a previous poster who posted a similar thread back in 2004 pointed out, it could be relevant to conversions.

Now that these companies have been around and used on many e-commerce sites for quite some time, I was hoping to revisit this question. HackerSafe and Control Scan claim conversion rate increases of 10-20% on many of their customers sites - has anyone here experimented with either of these companies? I'm very much interested in the opinions or experiences of anyone who has tried any of these trust logo companies, as I'm trying to decide whether or not I should make use of them on my site.

HackerSafe is currently about $1800/yr unless you're hosting your site with one of their affiliates (making it about $400/yr) while Control Scan runs about $1300.

Thanks for your help!

There is no doubt that third party endorsements (quality recognised ones) will increase visitor trust in your site. The question of is it worth it though is different for each site.

Visa/Mastercard, paypal trusted seller logo etc can also have a beneficial affect on your visitor trust. If yours is a mom and pop store, then yo can even consider linking back to your paypal feedback (assuming it is good). Be very carefull though as this can also have a reverse affect if people think you are some hick company that uses ebay!

It all depends on the image your portray as part of your business positioning.
