I have a new domain name cause the old one is hard to remember and to write, but that old domain name (domain-name.com) have more than 5,000 back links and the new domain name (domainname.com) have none, but I what that google give those backlinks to the new domain name, if I make a redirect what should happen?

Can you give me any suggestion?

Regars.

301 redirect will pass backlinks from old domain to new one. Eventually you'd probably want to get important backlinks updated or simply keep old domain hosted with redirect indefinitely.

Thanks for the Tip, I will keep the domain cause is good domain name, maybe someday some company will be interested on that.

Is the new domain brand new? Meaning will it be affected by Google's aging delay?

If so, you may want to read up in our aging delay thread before making any changes.

If I understand your question correctly, I would do a 301 redirect from the new domain to the old domain. That will take care of type in traffic (etc), and should not affect (effect) anything else about the existing domain.

Yes it will. The new domain will go into the aging delay and all search engine traffic will be lost for 9-12 months.

One question... I have a Domain less than 6 months old, and I get around 500 visits at day on that domain, that shall increase when my domain raise the 9-12 months ?

Thanks,

Maybe, if you optimized it right and it's not currently ranking for stuff you think it should be.
