LookSmart today announced that it has delivered its one-billionth paid introduction, making it the first paid search inclusion provider to reach this milestone.

Maybe the way they are counting them . . .Is that press release saying that LookSmart listings have had more clicks than Overture Listings or Google AdWord listings?
If so, I find that really hard to believe.

Google's numbers are not released but it seems safe to assume that they're doing a brisk business over the network of sites carrying their ads.Overture said that in the quarter, its distribution partners, which include Yahoo and Microsoft's (MSFT: news, chart, profile) MSN among others, drove more than 646 million clicks to the listings of Overture's advertising network. This compares to 515 million a year ago and 608 million in the first quarter.
It's strange to see LookSmart post such a meaningless milestone of a press release. Don't they have any news on WiseNut? Grub? A new partnership? MSN contract renewal? Anything?

Sounds like Overture and Google are way ahead. What is LookSmart saying in this article?
