Hi All,

Approached by a client in regards to reputation management for their brand name. One the first page of results, certain forum posts on 3rd party websites are being ranked under the business name.

I have seen SE reputation management put to work before but have not offered it as a service. The essence is very close to standard SEO with a couple differnet twists added into the mix.

Does anyone provide this as a service? Any good reads out there on it that discusses techniques?

Reputation management is different from standard SEO because you have to know all the places where you can put info about a company, and figure out how to get those pages to rank. You'll need a good PR campaign to be successful, and this is a long term project that needs a considerable budget.

I definitely agree on the length of time,

and PR was one of the factors I have in my toolkit.

Does anyone know the average costs associated with reputation management?

It's essentially the same thing as a PR campaign. You just have to use some web tactics instead of the 'old fashioned' communication channels. What's a PR campaign cost? About 2-8k per month is what I hear.
