I seem to be being left out of GOogle's SERPS and I can't figure out why. The domain is 11 months old, which should get me out of the sandbox (right?), has decent, relevant content, and is starting to get some decent high PR links.

I rank OK in Yahoo and MSN (at least I can find my site for searches there) but not in Google. I can only find my site when I search for the EXACT title, and not at any other time.

I've never done anything the least bit black hat, and I also use Google Sitemaps, so I don't think I've been banned, but I can't figure out why I don't show up in the top 100 for any of my search phrases.

Can anyone shed any light?

For instance, when you search one of my key search terms on MSN, I rank 10th. I don't rank at ALL in Google!

Is your site indexed chorn? Try a search at Google with site:yourdomain.com to see if your pages are indexed. You may or may not need to add the www. in front of the domain.

First you will need to determine if you site is indexed but not ranking, or if there is a problem keeping it from being indexed by Googlebot.

The site:mydomain returned some pages, looks ok to me. I;ve heard something about Google sandboxing inbound links, is that maybe the case? The reason I ask, is that I have several very good links to the home page. I don't expect to be ranked high, just ranked.

I might add that I've revamped my site to include 190 pages of good, very relevant content. I'm just to assuage my fears that now I finally have good content and links, that Google's upset at me for some reason.

Regardless, my results in yahoo and msn look pretty decent, my google results are nonexistant. Is 11 months not long enough to beat the aging delay...

It depends.

People have been reporting between 8 and 12 months for the most part. But that's 8-12 months from when the first link was placed and picked up. Did your site have good links pointing to it straight out of the box 11 months ago?

See our aging delay thread for more on the subject.

I think with 11 months, your site needs a little more time. It may be that you're competiting with a lot of other sites.

Hi!

It seams we are in the same boat. My site is now 13 months and 21 days old and I am not in 1000 results for my keywords. I can be found for loooooong keyword phrases. More or less is my google traffic a big 0. All i get from Google comes from images search.

I belive this is aging delay (before reading aging delay on this site I thought it is sandbox).

I donīt know maybe I just screwed up something big time and am not aware of it.

We will see I am waiting that my account is 30 days old so I can try to get review of it and maybe someone points out HERE you screwed up.

I found this forum very usefull (tryed some other SEO forums and usually got more confused).

I am still hoping I will just pop up in SERPS any day now.

Bye, Katja

I have noticed the same thing with my new site that the thing is over 8 months old and has been indexed since almost the time that it started. I have used all the things that I know from reading Jill for a while now and it still doesn't show up. I even am running a PPC against it to try to bring it up and still, no go. So I guess I have a few more months to play in the censored.gif sand before the organics start coming from Google.

Dumb question from somebody who should know better. What does SERPS stand for? The best I can come up with is for Search Engine R Placement Standing?

Sometimes the aging delay (or sandbox) gets blamed when that's not what it is, so please keep that in mind.

Not all SEO is created equal and it's important to note that you may simply not be optimizing as well as you could be and that's why you're not ranking highly. Often, it's a factor of choosing way too competitive phrases instead of the ones you should be choosing.

EcoSea, SERP stands for Search Engine Results Page.

I had a site that seemed to be in the sandbox for over 13 months. Ranked well in Yahoo! and MSN, poorly in Google. Then one day it appeared at #2 for it's main keyword phrase and has stayed there.

i think its not the ageing delay chorn, its all bout the keyphrases what kind of keyphrases are you targeting and how competitive is the keypharse.

as your site is pretty new, you have to work very hard to get them rank, your first priority should be to make all the pages indexed and then go for ranking.

do what u can do for your site but it shud be ethical and wait for the results.
