I have need for a little XML to code. Does anyone know how? All that is needed is to submit tracking numbers to UPS and or USPS (two different submissions of course) and have the data come back to my page (rather than going to another site). I have all the access keys etc.

I would suggest you post to the 'Contracting and Subcontracting' board. There's lots of hungry developers out there that would probably love to help you.

I wrote a shopping cart once that handed package data over to UPS to get rate and tracking information for a shipment. It's not that it was all that complicated, but not something one would do in an afternoon. My point is, I think it's beyond the scope of this board to ask for help on something like this. It would probably be easier on you if you just contracted it out or I'm sure there's probably off the shelf scripts available that would work for you. Just search around a little.

What language are you programming in? PHP? ASP? Perl?

UPS comes back with some very basic numbers (at least it did a year ago when I last messed around with it).

Let me know your programming language and, if possible, paste me the contents of an entire returned XML file from UPS.

It's been ages since I did anything in Perl, but we should be able to whip something out in ASP or PHP in about a half hour (and I'm working on a shopping system myself right now, so I've got to do the code for that anyway, sooner or later).

Hiya Gang. Thanks for the welcomes. I've been poppin' in every now and again for a while, but this is my first time de-lurkin' here. ;)

Now all we gotta do is entice the big G to learn some Perl and life will be good. ;)
