hello,

Does anyone knows what marketing strategy i need to use if i have an idea similar to digg and delicous, both sites are very successful and yet i never saw any sign of normal conservative publicity (like adds, mails , etc.) , they just flashed the web.
and another question, does anyone knows if the sites i mentioned above have other source of income except advertising?

Thanks .

Wikipedia. That's a good place to start researching. Don't believe what you read. Check the references.

Or you can start by looking at the Digg site smile.gif

What ads do they accept? Do they have a contact form where you can pose as an advertiser? Are there articles online talking about the Digg business model? (answer YES).

Seriously, if you can't work out how to answer the questions you posed, you have bigger issues, because research isn't Rocket Surgery, and is the same no matter what you are researching. You just write down the questions you want answers to, and then think of a way to answer them.

I think that SEO and link popularity is a good thing when dealing with sites like this. This is one of the main ways they got there is because the amount of pages they have indexed and the SEO plus link popularity giving them a good ranking for their pages.
