I expect I'll be at the London one. Unless it clashes with Euro 2004 and then I'll be watching football. I'm taking June off next year - did the same during the World Cup 2002 and it was great fun just drinking, smoking and watching the footie with some mates. I also had a little affiliate site for it that I updated every few hours - I was getting 2,500 uniques a day by the end and lots of people were emailing to say that they liked the 'guy in his armchair commenting on the match' type thing I had going. I really enjoyed that. Made some money with it too.

Here's the current info for London and Toronto. I have a colleague in Toronto who's been working on convincing me to come to the conference there. I might be able to make it.

Hi,

How much does an event like that cost (in Toronto)?

Are the presentations really informative or does the benifit really come from meeting others in the field? I'm guessing its the later and hence if you don't really know anyone then its not worthwhile unless your 'search' out some gurus? hehe

Welcome DeveloperGuy!

It depends on your knowledge level, IMO. The organic listings forum was interesting to me- the guys answered questions based on their opinions of what's going on in SEO today. Overall, I picked up some new info.

For example, I'm not into PPC but sitting in on a few of the paid listings sessions helps me to understand it better.

The networking is a huge plus- both with other professionals and prospective clients.

Unless I'm really busy, I'll be at the Toronto ("Trawna" for residents) one - be nice to match some audio voices to written voices

I was born there, and went back to live there for about a year after my undergrad, but it's been awhile since I've been back. Should be fun.

I am hoping to get to London, depends on one or two things I have to do next year (dates carved in stone), But the good thing is that London is only 1 hour 50 minutes away by train, or i can fly there in 50 minutes from Swansea to London City airport, so If i cant make the day, i WILL make a night :) anyhow I dont go in for all that networking thing, I like beers with the boys (The sex of the drinker is irrelevant it is always ) beers with the boys

Ohhhh goodie! I hope you all actually make it!

And I'd say both the sessions and the networking is great. The sessions aren't full of sales pitches, but real good info (for the most part).

QWERTY, a.k.a. Bob,hope you can make it.
I can't believe that I couldn't remember where the Metro Toronto Convention Centre is. Had to look it up. It's right downtown, next to the CN Tower If you're afraid of heights, don't look down when standing on the glass floor.
I spoke with Frank Fazio Jr.,at JupiterMedia.com,about sponsoring the pens and/or note pads,as I'll be launching a couple of sites around that time.
Lets see, first I have to buy a couple of thousand dollars worth of pens and/or pads. Then I have to pay them $2000.00 for the privelege of giving them away. :applause: What the heck, spending money is one of my favorite passtimes.
I also asked him what Jill is like in person, and he said ... um,cat wants out. I'll tell you later.
:P

Tom,

Is the cat out yet? :applause:

Toronto and London would be great fun. I'm keeping an open schedule for those time slots - if the trips work out I'll see you all there.

Hope to make the London one but it mainly depends on finances (I doubt my employer will make any contribution :applause: ).
