Is there a website that allows you to submit a press release for free that distributes the release to google/yahoo/msn news with hyperlinks in it?

Yeah PRWeb does. Please see our other threads on press release distribution for more about this sort of thing.

Actually not. It cost $119 to be able to be listed in Yahoo/Google news and to have a link pointing to your site.

You are not even allowed to have a keyphrase in the anchor text for that price.

Any ideas?

I would think that due to rampant "use" of the whole "links in a press release" thing, any service that provides worthwhile exposure isn't going to give away links for free.

It's a case of getting what you pay for, IMO. smile.gif

PR.com will let you create an account and submit press releases for free. You can put links in your press releases with your chosen anchor text for $29.95 per link. They have other "visibility enhancements" you can purchase in $10 increments, which seems quite reasonable.

I'm sure there are other worthy services that have similar pricing, and there may be some that are less expensive. But I honestly wouldn't expect to find any good ones that are free. I haven't really done much shopping around, though. search.gif dntknw.gif

ATR33, last time I used PRweb I just put in the minimum contribution ($40 me thinks) and my press release was indeed picked up by Google & Yahoo News... so no need to contribute up to $119 at all.

There are some free PR release sites, like Pr.com, Prleap.com, Przoom.com. My free press releases were distributed in google news.
