Mike Grehan,

Let me tell you that your presentation on link popularity (equity) was outstanding. Thanks for the white paper.

Really, really good stuff.

Thank you.

Well that's very kind of you to take the time to let me know. I'm glad you enjoyed it. We usually have a bit of fun with that session and it was even better that Eric managed to turn up this time (he wasn't able to make the San Jose gig).

Thanks again,

Cheers!

Eric Ward was awesome as well, but his information was more for the novice SEO. I am not putting him down in anyway, he was one of the main reasons I attended that session.

Mike, I will be writing an article for SEO Chat (sorry Jill for mentioning an other forum - i know your cool with it) and the Developer Shed network with my review on the conference over the next few days. Your review will be glowing. I might email you, with your permission, to ask you questions. Anyway, great job and I hope to meet you at SES NYC.

About the alt tags and if Google uses them for your rankings.  I'm the SEO Chat guy.

And you're sorry for asking it, why?

Not sorry for asking, sorry jumping on you (not literally) ;) about your post on the alt tag. You deserve an break from SEO related questions at a SEMPO cocktail event.

Anyway, What were your thoughts on the Web Analytics session?

Ohhhhhh! Now I remember. I thought you were talking about a question in one of my sessions, and I just didn't remember. Now I know what you're talking about. No problem, it was nice to meet you.

The um, case studies one? I was actually only there to report back on it for SearchDay. I found it somewhat boring, because it seemed that all the various software pretty much did the same thing. Very, very neat stuff to be sure. But I am not sure we needed to hear about them all in such detail.

Trying to decide how to write it up into an article so that it's not boring. Was looking through my notes earlier today, but didn't get any bright ideas!

Hello there all!!

Well I have to say that I had a great time. It was a pleasure meeting Jill and Scottie! Scottie was kind enough to point me in the right direction during one of the sessions on the second day! :tooth:

It was an excellent event, they even let me ask as many real estate questions as I wanted. One of the microphone attendants was tired of me, but the panels were great. I learned a lot...not just the everyday things you pick up here and there, I feel like I'm the boss with the hot sauce (in my office that is)! :smart:

I can't wait for next year.

Nice meeting everyone for the first time!

Hypntzd3 ;)

Ah, not a problem. As long as you are ok with it.

I'll be writing an article on that specific track as well for SEO Chat, I have some good ideas on how to give it the SEO slant. Maybe you can use it for your article?

Thanks for the offer, but I need to write my own with my own slant! In fact, I will need to purposely stay away from yours so as not to inadvertantly "steal" any of your ideas!

Hey Hypntzd3! Glad it all went well for you. It's always great to see someone like you there that is so obviously interested in soaking up as much info as possible. ;)

Wow, you must have caught me at a good time. Jill still blames me for missing the evening forum.... I was just following everyone else!

Nice meeting you too, Alex! ;)

If you were about at the morning keynote you caught much of the same information said in the evening forum - though minus the great epic of the Yahoo, Inktomi, Overture, FAST, Altavista merger physically acted out by Danny Sullivan. Great stuff that.

Up and about in the morning? What are you nuts?

Tenyque, didn't I meet you at your booth there? :D Love the stress ball.

Unfortunately not - spent my time in the trenches, er, sessions. The project managers greeting people and passing gum said they saw you, and were happy to meet Scottie as well!

Slave to the schedule (and some of us have bosses in attendance!).

Instead of taking the odd note sitting through the sessions it sounds like I would have learned far more in the unannounced ULTRA session track: the BAR.

Seeing Danny speak was a treat, he really knows how to illustrate a point, either just verbally or working with a presentation. And every so often it was great to see a panel member break from routine or their powerpoint and get downright frank with the audience.

Oh yes, definitely learn more from the bar than anything!

If you go to the next one, definitely stop by and say hi. You'll always find me there or close by at night...:drunk:
