hi guys,
i finally got round to registering with DigitalPoint's keyword tracker which appears to be a really great tool.
my only problem is is that it doesnt appear to be reflecting what google.co.uk is telling me.
keywords i know im ranking within the top 20 for are listed as 9999 - not ranked!
anyone else come across this?

p.s.
yes, i have altered the preferences to be uk only
yes, i have ensured that the tracker is looking upto and past the first 20 results
yes, i have emailed there support - awaiting a reply

hope someone has a golden nugget of information out there!

I saw this mentioned somewhere, but I don't recall where, and I don't know if it's true: because the tool uses the Google API, it's querying a completely separate index -- one that's there only for API users. I'm in the US, and I occasionally see differences between manual searches and results I get from Digitalpoint.

Does anyone have any reliable information on this?

Glad it's working for you Domokun.

Qwerty: I can verify what I see on my end, but that's about it since I haven't really researched it. You're correct that the API seems to query its own database. When things are stable the little API tool I made for internal use seems to work quite well. But when things are in flux, I don't even attempt to use the tool because the results are wrong as often as they are right.

Just to clarify what was going on, if you look at the URL when limiting your search to just sites in the UK, it differs from other International sites in that Google stacks more than one country in the URL as: countryUK|countryGB

As an example, Google Germany does one country as countryDE...

So I guess they are just considering UK and GB as two different countries. And even though the Google API docs says nothing about Great Britain as a supported country, nor anything about the ability to stack countries, I gave it a shot (and it worked). :)
