Trouble is the cached copies of all pages done this way look an absolute shambles in Google, but never mind. Can't have everything.

When layers first appeared on the scene, I thought wow kewl! I then realised how much of a cross browser PIA they were.

Whilst things have now improved browser wise, Im not entirely sure if its worth the aggro rewriting pages and shoving layers in here there and everywhere. Sure, layers can be used in all sorts of ways, the z index being particularly attractive to certain types of seo. :applause:

If you are comfortbable with layers, and are not tempted to use them in ways that could draw unwelcome attention, then yes, why not. They certainly give you all sorts of options from a usability point of view, and have their pluses for SEO purposes too.

Just proceed with caution, and don't be tempted to be a cheater. :)
