I have two very good websites that are producing about 1000 people each day to the site and about 5000 pageviews each. I am experiementing with google adsense on a different website. Do you get paid Cost per click or cost per 1000 impressions? THis is critical because CPC would be a lot more benificial. Also what is the average payout for CPC or CPM? is it less than 10 cents or around .25 cents per? Thank you

From the AdSense site:
I believe image ads are paid out on a CPM as well as CPC ratio. Text ads are paid out on CPC ratio. As noted above, Google won't disclose the exact percentage that you earn but many believe it is a pretty high percentage.

The Google ads you are able to display on your content pages can be either cost-per-click (CPC) or cost-per-1000-impressions (CPM) ads, while AdSense for search results pages show exclusively CPC ads. This means that advertisers pay either when users click on ads, or when the advertiser's ad is shown on your site. You'll receive a portion of the amount paid for either activity on your website. Although we don't disclose the exact revenue share, our goal is to enable publishers to make as much or more than they could with other advertising networks.

If I recall reading an article written by an authority figure such as WSJ, the percentage is indeed very high. In fact, the % orf revenue sharing with adsense publishers was revealed. It was at 75% if I recall correctly.
