20 minute plane delay in SJC
got on the plane in minneapolis to go to Philly just fine but.... waited 45 minutes on the plane to take off....
then when we got to philly i had to wait over an hour on the plane till they had a gate for us.....
talk about having a captive audience....
so... 1:15 a.m. I finally walk through my apartment door...
and now I'm at work today.... retelling my tale of horrid travel yesterday
BTW... will be working on my pictures tomorrow and will post a link!
(Including the Google Doodle of Sherrill, jehochman & me in a polaroid pic)

I wanted to say that I got more out of SES 2006 than SES 2005.
It was definitely worth the 8 hour drive from San Diego. In fact, I got something from just about every session I sat in on. I brought a colleague this time and he had a blast learning.
There were only a couple of panelists I had issues with, mostly a statement or two that came out of their mouths as fact when I knew they were not.
All-in-all... a success!

I haven't heard of any that have an outright ban on laptops, but some are strongly encouraging people to check everything that's not absolutely necessary in the cabin. Each airline has to meet the new TSA regulations, but that doesn't mean some can't go farther.

After hearing horror stories about the delays I made a point of arriving at the airport early on Friday - like 3 hours ahead of time. Amanda Watlington was with me and we both were totally surprised to find almost no one in the security line. We breezed through in record time. The lady in security said there had been a 90 minute wait to get through the day before.
It was great to see everyone at SES. Oh, Jehochman, thanks again for the Google tee shirt. By the time Jill, Debra, and I arrived at the Google Dance they were out of shirts, so the shirt made my day.
Storyspinner - I enjoyed visiting with you. sorry your return trip was such a pain.

Of course when they came around with the bins and ordered everyone to drop their water bottles, shampoo and whatnot, I found out what was going on.
We took off on time and I changed planes in Chicago to go on to Richmond. We were only 45 mintues late leaving Chicago which really surprised me. Other than that delay, I didn't see any other disruption. ( I was in Chicago when I called you Chris).
I came home and told Joe I was really impressed at the way the airport handled telling people what was going on and helping people clear their luggage of the "liquid stuff". Everyone around me was cooperative and worked with Security which is probably why the flight I was on went off on time.
The lady in line in front of me in San Jose started crying when she had to dump her makeup, apparantely it was really expensive. As long as they don't make me dump my computer and headphones I'm happy.

Those are great pictures! I had such a great time meeting everyone there I can't wait for next year. I learned tons and met tons of people thanks to Li
I headed out Wednesday afternoon and fortunately missed all the "security" issues, but didn't miss out on the delay hang-ups, got back in Omaha at 1 a.m. Thursday I should have just stayed and gone sumo wrestling.
I'm sure I'll be making tons of money off of Jon's discover of "Google's Secret Sauce" formula though;) Love that pic! I may even use that for my background, great stuff!
Thanks again Li, for babysitting me;)
