Quick (possibly gratuitous and self-serving) note...

I will be speaking on Monday (Search Term Research) and Tuesday (Bot Obedience), and delivering part of the first ever "SES training classes" on Friday (http://www.searcheng...6/training.html) at the Marriott.

Which will make for a very long week, since I get in Sunday and can't get home until Saturday night, but I'm sure all of my High Rankings Forum Friends (HRFF's) will be sympathetic and buy me lots of drinks @ the Marriott bar, starting Sunday afternoon. biggrin.gif

Sure, we'll buy the drinks. What's your room number? biggrin.gif

I'll be at the Hilton.

I would Dan, but not gonna be there that long, sorry!

[Edited....I'm actually at the Marriott not the Hilton as I first had posted!]

Going to be attending SES for the first, very excited and a bit unsure about the entire process. Seeing as so many speakers post here, I thought I'd ask couple of questions. smile.gif

I've marked down Jill's session and Matt B's Usability session. But, I'm still deciding between Search Landscape vs Dan's Search Term Research (leaning toward terms research) and Link Building vs Dan's Bot Obediences (leaning toward link building). Any suggestion? Or possible short-short preview from Dan.. please?

About bringing laptops, do you usually bring it around the entire day? Do we have access to outlets?

The bot obedience session is new, and I think it will be very good. Actually, it would still be very good if I "lost my presentation" and just sat there on the podium, because the other speakers' stuff is very good. It's more about dealing with "bat bots" than managing good bots, although I think we have a couple friendlies from Google and Yahoo to help with the SE spider side.

Did you get married, Chris? Or are you referring to your steady girl?

Thanks Dan, for the info. But can you tell me if the session is not just going to about the robots text file and tags? angel_not.gif

Well, I'm sure those things will be mentioned. Jon Glick is giving an overview of the entire "botspace" - search engines, scrapers, spammers, etc. and the tools we have to manage them. Bill from CrawlWall is mostly talking about preventing content theft, email bots, and scrapers. I'm talking about avoiding duplicate content issues caused by proxy servers passing requests from search engine spiders and stuff like that. My presentation will be a bit more technical than the other two, and I guess we'll see if the audience likes it or not.

I can testify that those beers had it coming to 'em. In Texas at least, that makes it all nice and legal. Yessir, nice and legal.
