Some sites that were previously "dropped" seem to be reappearing at or near their previous rankings, anybody else notice?

Yes! My site went from 60-ish to 6. Either the algo is changing, or the changes I made are making a difference. Last week I took out the overly large set of meta keywords (relics from the days of yore when such things mattered). I also slimmed down my title tag.

Funny our positions improved through this all. But since most of it was further up the front page the jumps were not big in terms of positions but big as far as increased traffic. A bunch of terms went from 8 to 6 to 4 etc.

I just got another big push from 4,5,6 for a bunch of very specific competitive terms - the industry gems (those $10 adwords) - to 2s across the board - and the number ones are varied, so it is not like a bunch got pushed out and everyone went up. Actually one three of the pages there were only 2 drops off the page and the rest was a resorting.

I use digitalpoint.com's keyword tracker and just noticed they are not reflecting the changes which they have always done in the past.
Do they get feeds and work from them for calculations?
Obviously it is not live, or else we are in the middle of another dance and they are pulling from a different database.

DigitalPoint uses the Google API which doesn't always reflect the same results as live searches.

Hi Sheep! :ghost:

Looks like the Welsh are invading....

And what is it about sheep there? "Wales - where men are men and sheep are nervous..."

I though New Zealand was fighting for that honor...

Anyway, made a picture in honor of the Wales contingent:

Croeso!

Ian
