Hello all
I have a site lets say called xyz.com. It has 3000 backlinks.
After 2 years I rebrand it and call it abc.com. I do a 310-redirect from xyz.com to abc.com so that anyone who goes to the old site gets automatically redirected to the new one.
The problem is the 3000 backlinks still point to xyz.com. Will this affect seo and link popularity of the new site abc.com? Will it 'inherit' the popularity of xyz.com?

eventually it will, 3 to 6 months minimum.
And if abc.com is new you still have the aging delay to go through.
BTW: A 301 redirect would be better
