Hi

Since google give the regional aspect more and more weight.
does anybody thinks that hosting the site in the audience regional erea will efect the SERP's ?
-if your target audience is in NY...hosting the site in NY city or in Tibet will efect on the big G ?

may sounds strange, but on this days-who knows ...

I'd always try and host in the country with your biggest target audience.

Who knows what G, or any other search engine for that matter, will do in the future.

IP addresses are already used by both web developers and search engines to locate users, so it wouldn't surpise me if overtime, search engines implemented further refined geo locational results that, for certain types of SERP, were based on your local IP.

Google uses:
1) Country extension
2) Hosting IP (i.e., physical location of teh box)

to determine what country a site belongs to. That is why www.anz.com is an Australian site, and so is www.bigpond.com.

Also, our Website To Country Tool will tell you the physical country location of any website/IP address (as far as Google sees it)...
