Writing Keyword Rich Copy

Those involved in creating gateway pages often tell me that it's an oversimplification to say that you can put search engine friendly text on your actual Web site's pages. They claim there's a difference between good copy for search engines and good copy for visitors to their site. Therefore, there is no other choice other than using gateway pages. In my opinion, that is simply not true. Good marketing copy can be written that sounds great, has calls to action and also utilizes keyword phrases. There's definitely an art to it, and you have to be a good copywriter, but it most definitely can be done. (See Heather LLoyd-Martin's terrific article explaining how to do it.) I cannot stress enough how crucial keyword-rich copy is for search engine success.

The link to the 'terrific article' is broken.

Is it still timely?

Did you try searching for it, Julian?

Heather used to partner with Jill on the RankWrite site and newsletter. Jill recently merged RankWrite into High Rankings so it could have broken the link in the process.

Jill can probably provide the link when she sees this! :naughty:

It's not broken in my pull down menu at the main portion of High Rankings. The URL is http://www.highranki...commonsense.htm

Could you let me know what page you found the broken link so that I can fix it?

Thanks!

Jill

Sorry for the delay.

That paragraph used to (AFAIR) have a link to an article about copywriting for SEO.

From the internet archive:

That isn't there any more.

Sigh.

You should be able to find her article at her site: www.searchenginewriting.com

It's an oldie, but goodie (the article)!
