I've found this to be a new issue when looking into a handful of different sites on the supposed Big Daddy IP numbers too webvivre. Especially with some of the advanced search operands. (eg site: and the like)
I'm not sure if it's going to mean anything in rankings, but I did notice that some older sites that I've known to have had a www/non-www redirect in place came up both ways. Some sites that didn't have this or haven't had it for long come up one way or the other. As if Google had already sorted out and merged the addreses.
Better safe than sorry I say. So I'm going to be going through this weekend to make sure all of my sites have a non-www to www redirect in place.
