Parked Domain Same As A 301 Redirect For Pr?
Posted 16 January 2006 - 11:11 AM
Will this work the same as a 301 redirect in googles eyes? (as i want the PR to transfer over)...on the hosts control panel (cPanel) does parking a domain mean the same thing as a 301 redirect?

Does anyone know if google transfers over PR with parked domains aswell?
I've had this domain parked for quite some time now. Both domains appear to have the same PR, and both the back links are identical. Does this mean google is treating the two domains as one and the same now?

They do sometimes. It's the exception rather than the rule though. Count yourself lucky if they've done that for you.

If they're seeing them as separate sites then they don't. If they see them as one then they do.
When you try to view the Google cache at either domain, does it always say "this is google's cache of domain1.com" regardless of whether you were checking for domain1 or domain2?
If so, then they see them as the same.
If not, they probably see them as unique sites.

very odd. i think for the time being i'll leave it parked, work on my incoming links and see if this makes any difference to the back links google displays for the two domains
