Hi,

After the post yearday i was thinking that maybe this way it will work on getting higher link visibility by letting other thjat go through the affiliate program to link to me in the following way :

<a href="http://www.yyyyyyyyy.com" onclick="http://www.xxxxxxxxx...er.php?id=rrr">

Would such a linking process help me in getting nigher ranking from my affiliates ?
Do you know any live exmaples that use this method and failed or not ?

Thanks crossfingers.gif

The method Shane proposed has not been seen to get anyone into trouble. OnClick abuse is thought to have gotten some sites penalized or banned. How the search engines detect and evaluate OnClick usage is anyone's guess.

Take that for what it's worth, but keep in mind there is no 100% sure way to beat the odds.

Go with the safest approach and hope for the best.

interesting thing about the onclick event. Do you have any resources that could be read about it and how the engines dislike this method ?

Other than the usual round of forum discussions where people say, "I thought I could do this and now my site is banned. Does anyone know why?", no, there is no documentation of the OnClick being a risky procedure that I can think of.

There was a brief exchange about Onclick in the comments of Matt Cutts' blog last August.

OnClick has been used to provide functionality similar to what you can do with Javascript. Nonetheless, it is regarded with some ambivalence in the technical clusters of the SEO community.

I would strongly urge you not to use it for redirection where a safer methodology has been proposed.

I just clicked on my link to Matt Cutts' blog and it came up. If that is the link you're referring to, you may need to clear your browser's cache and history. Maybe also the cookies.

Otherwise, I'm not sure why you cannot see the page.
