This isn't exactly press, but it's a mention in a book. The new writing book The Well-Fed Writer - Back for Seconds lists Jill's Nitty Gritty Guide and this forum as resources for online copywriting.

I think it is, but I'm quoted in it several times so I'm biased! naughty.gif

Okay, so it's not exactly the forum, per se, but the March 15, 2006 edition of the Internet Marketing Report newsletter quotes Jill and includes the URL for HighRankings.com as a place to get more info.

The article is entitled Crafting Web site copy that prompts action - and improves search rank. Near as I can tell, it's based on Jill's presentation on Writing for Search Engines at SES-NY.

(I just went crazy searching the High Rankings site for the examples they quoted in the article before it finally occurred to me where I might have seen them before, and sure enough, there they were on Jill's presentation slides in the Conference Handbook...)

QUOTE(article)
You've got to balance strong calls to action with benefits and features while trying to unobtrusively work in search-friendly keywords. That's why copy that works on both humans and search spiders really boils down to the small details, says optimization expert Jill Whalen.
Unfortunately, near as I can tell, the IMR is print-only, so there isn't an online version I can point anyone to.

Since in the same edition, they have a case study by someone who's credited as being a speaker at SES-NY, and they mention the seed packets that LifeTips was handing out in the Exhibit Hall as a way to stand out from the crowd at a trade show in their Steal These Ideas! column, I'd say it's a good bet Progressive Business Publications had at least one person on the ground at SES. smile.gif

FYI:

This is how the HighRankings Forum is billed by Aaron Wall in his SEOBOOK:

"Jill Whalen's mid sized SEO forums. Jill is branded as "the SEO copywriter." Her forum is geared primarily at people new to SEO, but there are also a variety of more experienced SEOs there too. Her forum tends to be rather conservative or "white hat.""

Wish he'd change that since I'm not now, nor have I ever been a copywriter, neither SEO or otherwise!

One more to add to the list: the interview with Jill in the March 2006 e-newsletter The Guerrilla Consultant.
