Hello
I have signed up for google adsense. In the welocme mail, this is written
"
Please note that you might not maximize your earnings from AdSense if you have any of the following on your website:

* robots.txt
* frames
* forms and dynamic content
* excessive images
* login and password requirements
"
Why robots.txt?

Thanks

I think they just mean if you are blocking pages via robots.txt then obviously those pages won't be able to utilize adwords.

I got it. Thanks Jill

One more question, I read in some posts here about adsense being pay-per-impression system as well.

Is it true for all adsense accounts or we need to sign up differently. As the ads have just started, I am curious to see it again and again (of course with out clicking on it).

Thanks

I don't believe there are any adsense systems that are pay per impression. Perhaps you're thinking of AdWords?

CPM for AdSense is opt-in for the advertiser, not for the publisher.

Put another way, if you see any CPM revenue (and the only way you'll recognize it is if you seen money coming in without corresponding clicks) it will mean that one or more advertisers specifically chose your site for a CPM campaign. You don't have to (nor can you) do anything special, save perhaps run a good site that advertisers will like.

Incidentally, the CPM ads still have to compete with their CPC brethren. The system tracks which ads make the most money for you, not necessarily how the money is made. So, if you have a particularly well performing CPC ad available to you, it might well be shown more and even to the exclusion of lesser paying CPM units. The advertisers know this, however, so they generally offer a bit more than your eCPM if they really want exposure on your site.

Thanks Ron.

Actually, I have just started earning few $$ from the program and I just wanted to make sure that I am in no way flouting the regulations.

Regards
