Hi Guys,

I get blasted with URL submit services (spam, junk snail mail, telemarketer calls, etc.) on a daily basis. I've used a few in the past and gotten severely burned.

Anybody use a credible service with positive results?

I work for an Internet Strategy firm in Scottsdale, AZ as a Marketing Coordinator (SEO and media buying type stuff). We build sites and then list them all the time. I still believe in the ol' keyword buying and manual submission ways.

Curious if anyone has any positive experiences or suggestions.

Thanks in advance for any replies,

Ben Bertrandt

Hi Ben,

Nice to see another Arizonian here!

IMO any automated submission program whether it be a web based service or software application is a waste of time and money. Doing it by hand is the best way and if the site is a new one, there are only a handful of crawlers and directories that it needs to be submitted to anyway.

One method we use when launching a new site is to simply feature it on our site and then the crawlers pick it up automatically.

But to answer your question - I have never seen or used any automated submission programs that are worthwhile.

I'd have to agree.

There's no need to submit to spidering engines at all. Directories have specific information and usually require you to select the most appropriate category. Submission services can't do that for you.
