Guys, what are your thoughts about having an SEO Paintball event. White vs. Black vs. Gray vs. Search Engines? smile.gif

I posted the idea at the roundtable and linked to other forums discussing it (after I posted it in the forums).

This can be a blast.

I assume we would do it at a SEM conference. Just wanted to get an idea from the forum folks which is best and what time is best. Also if anyone wants to organize it...

Some folks did do paintpall one time at one of the conferences. I don't remember where or when as I didn't go, but those who did seemed to have a lot of fun. (I was too scared as I had heard that the paintballs could kinda hurt when you got shot, and I don't like pain!)

Jill,

I wanted to make you a captain of one of the teams.

Which will it be? Whitehats or Blackhats?

Maybe we can get Matt Cutts to come. wink.gif

She had to turn in her white hat, you know. Referring a client to anyone who has ever claimed to spam the search engines is now worse than "robbering a bank".

I say we go with camoflage hats... wink.gif

Will the white hat team wear pointy hoods? eek.gif

I think you should go with paint-filled balloons instead of paintballs Barry. Get 'em up close and personal to take someone out.

It would be much better for spectators.

Oh, and make sure to film it all. It could become next years hit reality series. angel_not.gif

I wanna join!!

San Jose does have a field that hosts regional paintball tournaments, I'm sure they could handle anything amount of people we put together. I don't know if they rent gear though.

<~~That's me playing in a Vegas tournament in 2004.

If I'm captain does that mean I don't have to get shot (and hurt)?

Jill the shots you would take wont hurt. My girl plays and in the end, she does have bruises that look pretty bad, but shes the type of player that likes to run through and shoot people point blank, so she gets shot in return a lot of the time.

It feels like someone flicking you with there finger. Whent he ball breaks on you, the energy is released, so it barely hurts, most of you sensitive areas (head, neck, arms, and hands) should be covered any way so, you're less likely to feel them at all. The field I practice at has a young guns team made of 10-12 year olds, and they all love it.

Ofcourse, you could play the role of the "ok, this is what I want you to do ....now go out and do it" type captain. But my girlfriend does warn, once you play, you may become severly addicted.

Can we just have an HRF team?

(Of course if as many people turn up from HRF as did at our HRF Birds of a Feather table today at lunch, it's just gonna be me and my business partner, Lorraine -- and she's not even a forum member!)

I'd love to play! Paintball is very fun, and the bruises look cool.

One word of advice to the men: Never lead with your groin. I chocked a bloke right in the goolies, and I am not sure he can ever father chillen now smile.gif
