I recently purchased a new laptop and after installing the google toolbar I noticed that the PR bar was grayed out all the time. I made sure to allow google to do whatever they want on the "Privacy Settings" of the installation menu.

Anyone out there been thru this before? cry.gif

Sure, Pagerank isn't as important as it's been hyped up to be, but it's a piece of the puzzle we call SEO and it would be nice to be able to see a site's PR when I'm researching.

Unsure of this situation.. have you simply tried removing and reinstalling it?

I did try that. As a matter of fact I uninstalled it and then deleted the folder from the Program Files folder just to make sure that everything was started from scratch when I reinstalled it and the problem is still happening.

Maybe they're trying to save you the grief of getting too caught up in the little green bar? wink.gif

Seriously, the GTB has been pretty wonky from time to time since day one. So I wouldn't worry about it too much. It'll probably start working in a couple of days.

The only other things that come to mind immediately is a possible firewall issue or possibly you may have them blocked if you're configured your "hosts" file.

Did you check the toolbar options settings? And if you're browsing anonymously, it may not work also. So check that too.
