my company has various affiliate programs with various big providers who ill call CorpA, CorpB and CorpC.
we give these providers a link to one of our pages (link.asp) which contains an id and reference
so we know that the user came from CorpA and that he was interested in our Whirlygig product
with me so far? good!
now then, im wondering what the Spiders are looking at in these situations and that, my friends, is where i need your help.
are the Spiders saying
link.asp is linked to by CorpA, CorpB and CorpC ... therefore, link.asp is pretty darn popular!
or, are they saying
CorpA links to link.asp?id=CorpA
CorpB links to link.asp?id=CorpB
CorpC links to link.asp?id=CorpC
therefore link.asp (on its own) isnt linked to at all!
[oh, i should just say, link.asp isnt linked to from chrisCorp.com, only our affiliates can get to it]
