Should My Keywords Be In Alphabetical Order?

As far as I know, spiders read through code in order. They start at the top of the document and work their way down.
The keywords meta tag is almost completely ignored these days. Certainly Google doesn't pay any attention to it. But if you're going to put the keywords in some order, the most sensible order in my mind would be to have the most important terms at the beginning of the tag.

I don't remeber where I read it, but I know it was stated. It actually didn't put that much emphasis on the keyword meta tag, but more on the fact that it displayed the results after scanning through the SE database in alphbetical order; results starting with the domain and then title tag (that were obvisouly relative to the search).
It actually even went as far to say that the SE starts out with titles alphabetically reading titles that started out with characters and number such as ( . ), ( : ), and ( 0 ), etc.
I hope I explained that correctly. Anyway, with that concept possibly having merrit, I wondered if the meta tags would be important as well?
If I can find the article again, I'll repost with it. What do you think of this concept.

Interesting concept. I have nothing to back it up, but I would be very surprised if the alpha order had anything at all to do with non-Directory search engines these days. I can fathom some really screwy SERP returns if that were being done.

Conceptual idea of article is: If a search for "homes for sale" is request. The engines search their db that is in alphabetical order start seeing (domain first) sites that perhaps are: www.acworth-homes-for-sale.com and www.acworth-affordable-homes-for-sale.com.
The www.acworth-affordable-homes-for-sale.com would (again this is what they said) be considered first. Now, again, I'm not sure if this holds water, but its just a thought. Perhaps its worth the extra effort to eliminate the work for the se making it all alphabetically listed. I don't know...now that I think about it more, I doubt it a little more.

The order of a DB isn't particularly relevant anyway. I'm not much of a database person (I've done a little work in SQL), but a given table may have a default order, but that's just a matter of convenience. The order will be changed based on views and queries.
In other words, if someone is searching for Apple, the search engine is not going to find the results any faster than if someone is searching for Zimbabwe. And the results of a search are not going to be about which page the SE finds first when it runs through its DB. It's going to be about which of the pages it finds best meet the criteria set forth in the query.

I don't think it makes much difference, in fact you would have to be mad to do things alphabetically
