When i search on my chosen search vehicle, i do not expect to be served up results from another search engine, most of which are crap paid for adverts anyhow with little or no relevance to my original search query other than the optimisation for that query string.
IMO these directories run the risk of having their domains pulled from the index as that may well be the only way to stop it.
I have no problem with seeing an ad at the side clearly marked as such saying ' find Scandinavian curdled yaks milk on ebay' or wherever, as i know that it is an advert, I know it was paid for, and i can decide if i want to go there,
But when the same is happening in the SERPS it drives me nuts

Interesting proposition... and there is some validity to the point, but publishing to the web offers this as a possibility, and if the links etc of the copy are still in place it really is just a free press release...
Publishing pages consisting of search results from search engines sounds like a copyright issue to me. Who wrote the copy that appears on a search results page? When it has snippets I wrote, it certainly doesn't below to someone republishing my words for their own gains.
What about the tool that spams a site to get listed on its stats pages!!!
