I just received an inquiry from a client who designed her website and shopping cart with a template driven program from her point of sale vendor.

The file names are in a format like: www.domainname.com/browse.cfm/2,102.html

The template system will allow the update of page titles, keywords and descriptions, but it doesn't look like you get much choice in directories or filenames.

Do you have any advice on how best to optimize a site like this?

Thank you!
Joanne

that should be plenty if all other on page factors are handled properly..

this really shouldn't matter at all..

don't worry about directory and file names.. they will not make or break your seo efforts, imo.. cheers.gif

Thank you for the feedback... that's what I hoped you would say.

We'll focus on page titles, meta tags & content and not worry about filenames, directories and so on.

Don't need to worry about Meta tags either.
