I spoke to an SEO company that had a small ad in a marketing magazine.
Here is a quick look at the offer they had for me.
They say "we are one of 10 yahoo ambassador SEO companies that have the right to not only optimize you site but to pay yahoo $0.39/click and get a higher position for NATURAL search"
I questioned this lady 4 times to make sure I was understanding her right. Yes, it's true ... they are the Yahoo Ambassador program holders.
She was OK with giving me the names of their VPs and the President.
Am I missing something here? I mean they look like a known company ... I've heard their company name before.
Here is what I think .... they do standard SEO, but to be different from the pack, they come up with this Ambassador program .... plus, they'll get us some traffic and charge us 0.39 cents per click additional to their SEO fees.
Isn't this a tricky scam?

I would be wary about this promise. Yahoo! has a program called Search Submit or something that allows you to get your site reviewed and listed in their organic search results. You pay per click, and the amount you pay depends on the category of your site. When we did it we only paid around .10 or .15 per click. In my opinion, this is only useful if you have a site that has been penalized and you want to get it back in the search results quickly or you have a site that changes frequently and you want Yahoo's spiders to visit it frequently.
Yahoo makes it very clear that being part of this program has no effect on your rankings.

Sounds like they are misrepresenting paid inclusion.

It's trusted feed. Nothing special. You can go through Trellian, PositionTech, MakeMeTop and others to get the same if not a better deal.

the same deal yes... a better deal, not in terms of CPC rates... these are structured to be the same from all Yahoo Partners,
a better deal in terms of service ... definitely!
