morning all,
:D
ive searched the archives and have found links to some very good keyword density tools (see foot of post) but what id really like is a tool which can work offline. the reason being that i dont actually make the amends, i have to put them in a work queue for someone else to do (a blessing and a curse) so id like to be able to see if my suggestions have improved the keyword density before someone goes ahead and makes the necessary changes and they become live - gettit?!
can anybody point me in the right direction?
:buds:

heres some good online ones:
http://www.digitalpo...tools/keywords/
http://www.markhorre...ols/density.asp
http://www.searcheng...gi-bin/kwda.cgi

thanks all.
;)

WebPosition does keyword density. That's a very expensive way to do it.

Microsoft Word (and many other word processors) does word counting, and you can probably find a calculator.

One other online tool:

Found this Windows tool:

I haven't checked a page for KWD in years. I'm not saying that you shouldn't, I'm just saying that if you build a good page with a fair amount of text (read enough to get your message across without being too fluffy) it will rank well almost by itself sometimes. IMO many, if not all of those tools are only available to make the programmer selling them money.

interesting point, although the above kwd are free, but i understand where you're coming from.
im a newbie to this seo game so if kwd is a faux-pas please let me know!
i, so far, have found it to be quite an interesting tool. ive included in it my analysis of competitor sites and can see that the better the kwd, the higher the rank (there are of course other factors at play, some i can measure, some i cant).

Personally, I like the eyeball method. When you highlight the keyword phrases, you can get a good idea of their density just with your eyeballs.

In fact, using IE with the google toolbar installed is an easy way to do this. Just load up your page into the browser and put the keyword phrase you want to eyeball into the google search box (don't click search though). Then hit the "Highlight" button (the little pen/marker icon) and voila...instant keyword density eyeball check!

Also if you click on the highlighted word in your toolbar (off to the right side) it will take you through the page to each occurance of that word.
