Css Link Targets
Posted 06 September 2005 - 01:23 PM
I've got a pretty basic two column layout w. header & footer. Right hand navigation that works fine. But any links I put within the text of the LH column seems to inherit the rules for that <div> i.e. it opens the link inside the existing page so the target page is floating inside linked page. I've tried chaning the targets for the links. Blank opens the new window but fills it with page floating on page thing. What going on here? Probably some newbie error but I can't seem to track it down. Thanks for any thoughts.

In any case, there's nothing I know of in CSS that controls where links open.

It's not going to be a CSS issue, but the behavior you've reported sounds really interesting, and I'd really like to take a peek under the proverbial hood.

Glad you were able to figure it out! Sometimes I find that the simple act of trying to explain the problem to somebody else is just the "kickstart" my brain needs to figure it all out on my own.

I'm glad you got it figured out too, unexplainable browser behaviour is a pain in the proverbial!
