Hello,
I have read one comment regarding Business.com and it fired off a distant memory, something about business.com bringing a record price for a domain. Back in '97 it sold for $150,000 (ah the days of innocence), then it went on to sell again in 2000 for $7.5 million.
These prices make me think that, by sheer weight of price-paid-for-a-domain, business.com should be a serious player on the web. I really have not heard much about them and was surprised to find that they are a Business (duh) related directory. 7.5 million for a lesser known, topic specific directory?
The comment that I read said that a listing in business.com was a good idea. A basic listing there costs $99.00 for a year, and they offer other options as well. A fixed PPC at .20 per click and another program for big budget businesses.
Is there any further input on the value of this directory? Especially as regards recommending the directory to be included in the annual SEO budget of a client?

Well many of the pages are a PR 5 link I think. Here is another thing, the traffic that is there ... its mostly people looking to buy something from a business. How many conversions do you need to justify $100/yr. the pagerank is a bonus if it helps at all

I'm a firm believer in Business.com for my B2B clients. The traffic and conversions have made even the smallest investment worth the fees. Business.Com also does a great deal of off-line advertising in Financial and Industrial trade magazines, which attracts eyes that may not normally be searching the web.
I could care less about the PR - B.Com produces good, targeted traffic!

I believe Business.com is a good investment. Until recently, you could get listed for a "one-time" fee of $99. Now it is recurring but even so, Business.com can bring referrers and will increase your Link Popularity.
In today's age of trying to obtain prime site optimization for search engines as well as have many good quality links pointing to your site, placement in Business.com is one of those "must have" elements.

Well, I don't imagine that there are too many topics that would receive such an across-the-board positive response.
Thanks very much. I guess I'll be adding the business.com directory to my SEO toolbag.
All the best.
