Danny has heard through the grapevine that I'm no longer a white hat SEO and has asked me to turn in my white hat during that panel

say it ain't so!!
Registration is done, now only if I can get the travel folks here to get my flights right... I'd be in business!
So have we decided on a time/day/place for all of us who are going to meet up?

Well, that's what I'm told at least.
The bar. Any time night or day.

I'll be there at the Marriott - leaning on it from Saturday evening until Thursday (sometime) when I fly out!

I noted that over the past year or two you seem to have converted more to the philosophy of understanding the technical stuff behind SEs, but I also feel a bit of trepidation whenever the topic of white paper reviews, patent applications or formula dissesction arises...
I won't miss it for the world - unless, of course, I'm speaking at the same time. Any hints about what you'll say?

Actually, Rand, I've always understood and discussed many of the technical aspects of how to get found in the rankings. People only seem to hear me say "writing copy" though!
But I will definitely be speaking out against chasing algorithms. Nothing could be more silly to do, imo!

I assume there will be panelists who don't share your viewpoint there as well?
I'll be speaking about algorithm chasing, BTW!! In Site ECG & Search Algorithms
I'll make sure to see you all in the bar, although I booked a little late and the Marriot was out of rooms, so I'm at the Hilton

LOL...well what kind of panel would it be if everyone said the same thing!
Actually, that would be fun, and I wouldn't mind doing it now before the conference, as it would help me clarify my own ideas on the subject. It's really not something I've discussed in quite some time, because I really thought it was a non-issue these days. When I read stuff from all the folks who used to talk algos, they now pretty much say the same kind of thing I say.
How about you email me with your thoughts, and we can have a nice dialogue back and forth. But we won't publicize it anywhere until after the conf. or perhaps right before? (Trying to think which would be better for marketing purposes for the conference!)
