Can anyone tell me about Pay Per Click Promotion offered by [domain deleted]? Is it effective? Should I use it? Need help.

Kumkum, from what I've read on their site, they are using the term Pay Per Click to describe something other than the common definition of the term: the Adwords/Overture/FindWhat etc. model.

As I understand it, this company will set up a new domain for your company, then optimize that for search engines and charge you 5 cents for every visitor it redirects to your site.

In my opinion, you'd be better off working with a SEO company that will optimize YOUR site, and a PPC consultant who will help set up and track PPC campaigns driving traffic directly to YOUR site.

This is especially so with SEO.

The type of redirection of traffic is also likely frowned upon by most major search engines.

Beside this, Kumkum, when you stop paying for the redirected traffic, they can kill the site or even worse, redirect that traffic to your competitors. As Ed said, have your own site optimiized and if performing PPC, use a reputable vendor.

Searchrank -

I worked for one of the larger SEM companies in Scottsdale that would do just that. As a salesperson, our job was to threaten the prospect into renewing by telling them "we can take your traffic and send it to your top competitor." Needless to say, I left that place as soon as I could.

You wouldn't be talking about a company that starts with the letter "I" would you? :jumpon:

No one likes a hot cup of coffee in their face Jill; it's demoralizing, even for a mercucial fellow like myself.

Have you ever met JH? Crazy sob.

Demoralizing? Sheesh, I should say so. Could you pm me who it is we're talking about? I really have no clue.

Hot coffee in the face? Man are you serious? I think I'd be taking that guy to court. Remember the McDonalds suit with the hot coffee? :jumpon:

BTW - I've never met anyone over there, only heard negative things over the years.

He never got me with any; he got a couple of the other sales guys though. With the SEO world as tight and communicative as it is, one would think it's a bad idea to mistreat employees as much as they did.

No biggie, I'm having fun watching the competition take his business away. :jumpon:

...and then there's people like me who are not in the know, who don't know who you're talking about, and who wonder if we'll someday be unlucky enough to wind up hiring these people...
