I've had a site online now for about 15 months and it has a PR6 (http://travel.yellowpages.com). As you can see, it is a subdomain of yellowpages.com.
We want to move away from the subdomain thing and have our own domain so we put up a new site at travelyellowpages.com. (the sites are not identical but offer the same services).
We've been running both sites in parallel now for 3-4 months. the new site (travelyellowpages.com) has links from the PR6 travel.yellowpages.com but is still not found in Google at all.
Since we want to move everything to the new domain and the new domain has no page rank, we are contemplating a 301 Redirect of the old PR6 domain to the new domain.
1. Will our healthy page rank 6 be inherited by the new domain? If so, when?
2. Should I expect to see a drop in search engine referrals after the redirect is done?
3. What kinds of gotcha's do I need to watch out for?
Thank you very much!
