Hi Kumkum
When people link to you have them put your keywords related to the destination page in the link visible text
as for tracking if your links are attracting visitors look at you logs, they should give you the entry point into your site and the referrers
Sometimes I visit the partners page but it's better if you can put the partners on your site pages if you can.

Yep, that's one reason why the typical "link exchange" is so silly. It is meant only for the search engines (in most cases), and it is so transparent that the search engines can see through it.
Although I do have link pages (four of them) for a whole host of reasons, my recent focus has been to get more links for some of my content pages. I seek link exchanges between specific pages rather than sites whenever possible, or just links to specific content pages. It's far from perfect, and most webmasters are not interested, but it is getting me what I believe are much higher quality links than just doing the link exchange page thing.
