Image To Appear When Hover On Link?

But that would keep the image in a particular place. I've seen some scripts that bring up the image and have it follow your mouse around while you're moving it over whatever text brought it up. That seems a bit like overkill to me, though.

Those things are sooooo annoying!
BTW, welcome to High Rankings!

I made one of those JS scripts available for free long ago and far away Torka.
Do you hate me yet?

Besides, I'm in a decent mood because -- even though it looks as though the sister will get away with it -- the judge at least had enough sense to uphold the conviction of her brother, the spammer from just down the road (may he and his entire family be permanently infested with the plague-laden fleas of a thousand camel caravans...)

But anyway, I don't think that's quite what the original question was. That was just about making an image appear when some text was moused-over. And that's not necessarily vomit-inducing.

Believe it or not, the friend that I originally developed it for still uses the script on her personal site I think. Kind of similar to the one linked above, except it actually almost works with her site. It's an underwater motif thing, and the cursor movements make little bubbles that follow you around. I always throught the cursor should be made into a tiny scuba diver or something.
One of those annoying little JS watermark things, where as you scrolled down the page the logo/watermark moved with you. Clients ask for the strangest things...
And my most favorite was my very first site. A little Jukebox thing that played midi tunes. You could choose your own playlist from the 7,000 or so midi's I had uploaded, slap them into your personal jukebox and it would randomly go through your list playing songs while you worked. Nobody could figure out how I got the Jukebox to do that, especially since I'd encrypted the code.

Write your function in the <head> to swap the image. In the function, you have to include the src (folder/image.jpg), and specify the width and height of the image you want to appear.
in your link tag, call the function with onMouseOver, something like:
<a href="whatever.html" onMouseOver="functionName()">Link Text</a>
as always, watch out for cross-browser if you're targetting older browsers.
