I don't think they'd see it in the spirit of the law either, especially since they explicitely say to put AdSense code on text rich pages. IMO, there's no way in he** they would consider hidden text as "text rich."

thanks [anyway] ... i think the risk is worth taking. i'll try hidden texts on some pages first and let you guys know result.

I've seen a couple of threads with a similar tone lately .. it just astounds me. If I were relatively new to online business (which I am) and I held any stock at all in gaining revenue from my new website (which I do), and I asked a question that had an overwhelming "don't do it, it could get you banned" reaction ... well, I'd sure react differently than "I think the risk is worth taking." Sheesh, do you really? I'd be saying, "Damn, I'm really glad I asked ... I sure don't want to do that!"

If your site is just for fun and you want to try to bring in a few bucks using adsense, then why not, you site is probably not a huge investment of time or money, you probably don’t care much about rankings and can start from scratch if you need to.

But if you are trying to build a new business online ... well, I'd be a lot more careful about braving new trails. I'd ask questions before I conclude what I'm going to do, or I'd at least be prepared to back up a step and rethink. As hard as it is to make an effective site, get ranked, draw traffic and convert that to money ... I think the risk is NOT worth it. I hope it works well for you, but I'm sure not going to accompany you down that road regardless of your "results".
