A combination of Steve's Don't Make Me Think and Karon's Copywriting Course.

IMO if you can understand and implement even half of the concepts included in those two resources you're good to go.  One helps you make your web site appealing and easy to use, the other helps you speak directly to your customer's needs.  Both are also loaded with common sense advice.

Randy, you are 1000% right. lol.gif A combination of Steve and Karon's advice is a very powerful thing. Steve's book is so interesting, very easy reading and makes total sense. Anyone out there wondering if they should purchase either of these items should do it NOW! I take Steve's book with me on every flight just to refresh my memory and get new ideas. thumbup1.gif

[We interupt your regularly scheduled forum thread for this commerical announcment!]

Now that you're all convinced to buy Steve's book, you can do so from Amazon using our forum affiliate link:

Don't Make Me Think.

Here's the link for Karon's Copywriting Course as well.

Or, save and buy Karon's course and my Nitty-gritty guide Combo.

Ok, I am now thoroughly convinced to buy the book. Sorry, Jill, but I'm off to use my own affiliate link smile.gif

PS - Steve, about the autographed books - selling autographed copies directly from your site is workable, even if you do buy the books at retail. The product you would then be selling is the enhanced version because of the signature and should be sold for $10, $15 or $25 above standard retail, plus shipping.

BTW, Steve, have you REALLY trade marked Rocket Surgery? That is a phrase I use religiously; it is my "Consultant Challenge". You have to use the phrase "Rocket Surgery" and the analogy "Too many Chefs and not enough Indians" in the same meeting a not have anyone notice to win. I was mortified to see it was your motto, cause i was thinking of making it my tagline unsure.gif

Oh well, just glad someone else likes that phrase!!!

Maybe it means "Too many Chefs and not enough Indian takeaways"?

I noted with interest in Amazon that Don't Make Me Think, Second Edition, is due for release in July and is available to pre-order. Not that I could wait that long. I'm far too impatient for that. smile.gif
