No, I'm just another website owner who is ever so grateful to Jill et al for all the viable optimization techniques she, the moderators and other members of this very forum so freely share ***for free***.
I started my online store in Oct of 2003. Not knowing what constituted viable "SEO" techniques, I was suckered into believing that if I forked over $1500 to a SEO company that they would propel my site to top 10 rankings on at least 4 of the major search engines (Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc.) with at least 4 of my chosen keyword phrases.
This SEO firm had me believing that just inserting this "optimized" meta code in my site, along with their 480,000 x per month submission service and the "Gateway Pages" they would create that my site would be in the top 10. Thankfully I found this forum and realized that they had sold me a lot of hocus-pocus, some of which could get my site penalized by the SE. After the allotted time had passed which this SEO firm had guaranteed my site would be in the top ten, and yet my site was still no where to be found. (Side note: my stats for average unique visitors per day in January 04 was 5 visitors (yes, that is FIVE) notwithstanding this firm claimed that was impossible, that with their techniques my stat software must not be working..... LOL!) I did cancel my contract in Jan of 04 and received a refund in full.
I then spent countless hours here in this very forum; reading, learning, implementing *friendly* techniques that were useful to the SE and my visitors. And fast forwarding to today, because of this very forum my site is a success. I am turning a profit in which I am truly proud of. I receive a steady stream of traffic from organic listings in Google, Yahoo, MSN and many other SE and now have successfully supplemented my bottom line with a successful PPC campaign (thanks mostly in part to reading Haystack's posts).
My point being is that you are way off base by assuming that I am just another SEO consultant out to sabotage TP.
And after witnessing sites and their unsuspecting owners be banned by Google due to TP, I am really grateful that I found this forum in time to cancel the trickery being performed by the original firm I hired.
Lastly, I would really give it some thought to whether a company like TP could change their methodologies to friendly, viable ones overnight.
Good luck and my unsolicited advise is to save your money and stick around here.... you might learn something
