I was wondering if someone could give me some good online references for CSS. I am going to use it to clean up my site. I'd appreciate any info.

Thanks
Soupnazi

Welcome Soupnazi ! hi.gif

The Web Design Group has several CSS guides available. Tutorials, Quick Starts, etc. To this day I still have and use their CSS Properties guide when I forget some syntax.

There are lots of others out there, depending upon your starting point an what you need exactly. I'm sure that others will add their favorites to the thread.

You can also have a look at the W3 Schools CSS Tutorial.

For the true beginner, check out the Echo Echo CSS Tutorial.

Simple and easy to understand.

1) WebMonkey site has some of the greatest tutorials I came across on the Web (not just CSS):
webmonkey.wired.com/webmonkey/reference/stylesheet_guide/

2) www.sitepoint.com offers more advanced articles

When you're through with these two and need more you're ready for the serious stuff:

3) the W3C references (same where the W3C CSS Tutorial suggested by qwerty above)

4) Then there's of course Microsoft (surprise!) with it's MSDN, a lot of in-depth info:
msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/workshop/author/css/css_node_entry.asp

The W3C is a great resource, but it's not the same as the one I mentioned. I was linking to W3 Schools, and as far as I know the two are not related.

Oh, and welcome, Wired Paul hi.gif

Thanks for the welcome :-)
Been lurking some time here

You're right about the references, they aren't related:

W3C.org reference is at
http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-CSS1 and REC-CSS2
(pretty nice to have it all in one doc; possible to search fast in Opera or FireFox)
W3Schools.com have there own references

---
I've personally relied mostly on Macromedia Dreamweaver and its built-in O'Reilley CSS reference to learn stylesheets business. Just practiced it for hours.
